Invitation Selection: Performing Writer is a "show" event, instead of a writer's round. We emphasis the "performance" of original music. This is an invitation-only showcase. Our selection process is a result of direct inquiries from artists we feel are suitable for our show and the result of our own scouting activities. We encourage performers just starting out as well as experienced, seasoned songwriters and artists presenting their own material. We look for talent, uniqueness, potential, and passion.
Overview: Performing Writer strives to create the leading concept for acoustic showcasing in the Nashville area and beyond. Our approach is to present the artist(s) in the best possible light in a relaxed and affirming atmosphere. We give every performer our attention to detail in an attempt to create a magical experience for the artist and the audience. At present, there is no pay associated with our live show or video productions except for your opportunity to sell your merchandise and to receive benefits of our marketing.
Show Timing: We send out the line-up and set times before the show. The weekly show at The Fillin’ Station starts at 7 p.m. and ends at or after 9 p.m. (special events may vary). The show is actively hosted and moves quickly. We invite those performers interested in being interviewed to be available around 6:15 p.m. If there is back-line equipment to be used, we ask that the equipment is in place before the show begins and may need to stay in place (depending on the equipment) until the show ends.
Acoustic Equipment: We greatly encourage acoustic percussion that can be quickly moved from the stage area, we discourage the use of drum kits (snare, base drum, etc.) as this is an acoustic-styled showcase and balance of volume is an important issue. We supply the sound system and microphones. We don't supply any back-line equipment such as instrument amplifiers.
We can be contacted by email, facebook, or ReverbNation if you are interested in playing the show.
